This is dog is being set up as a courtesy listing from one of our donors. Please see the information below, taken from an email sent to Oasis; the contact is at the end of the description: The woman who owns the dog is a friend of my friend. She lives in Clementon, N J and needs to find a home for her pit bull mix. The dogs owner recently moved into a home where her landlord accepts dogs. But the landlord just had an issue at another property where he is being sued because of another tenant's pet and a condition of his insurance company is that he remove all pets from all his properties. She can't afford to move again and is facing having to give up her dog. Here's what she wrote about the dog He's a male, neutered, up to date on shots and treated with K9 advantage (for fleas & ticks) & housebroken. He's 3 1/2 years old. Other than my son, he doesn't have any socialization with children. My only concern with little kids would be knocking them down. He's clumsy, sweet, loves to hug and thinks he's a lap dog. He weighs about 65lbs. The mix seems to be Pit/Hungarian Visla/Mastiff. He gets very attached to one person at a time and sticks to them like glue. Loves to play with stuffed animals (though usually unstuffs them in a couple weeks). But he gets very protective of the people he's close to. We rescued him as a 6 month old puppy. He was being used as a bait dog for dog fighting. He was afraid of his own shadow and starved. He's gotten quite good about the food thing since he's had plenty for years. I can easily take food away from him or put my hand in his bowl. But he gets defensive when afraid (so far the only thing that really scares him is another dog going after him or fireworks). My dog is OK with big dogs as long as they aren't aggressive. He was only ever around a small dog once, the dog was very aggressive towards him and disaster was only narrowly avoided. He absolutely hates cats though. My biggest concern around here is that dog fighting is going on, and I'm afraid of giving him to a stranger that might want him for that purpose.
